Virus and Hacker Scam Removal

We make use of a variety of virus removal tools to scan your computer for viruses, spyware and malware.  You do not want anything running in the background watching you, interrupting with bogus pop-up alerts and interfering with everything. Some shops go nuclear and wipe out everything just to make sure that the virus is gone. This can cause it’s own new set of problems. Sometimes installing programs can cause problems during re-installation, especially for older versions where the license may no longer be able to activate. After a wipe and reinstall, your computer won’t recognize printers and other devices you have set up. We can usually avoid this.

Even though our virus removal approach normally saves everything, we back up everything first to be safe. We directly remove the virus whenever possible. Don’t want to throw the baby out with the bathwater, right? We remove the virus first before considering reinstalling your operating system. Not only does this avoid losing any more data than necessary, we preserve your preferences, shortcuts and software.

If preserving your data (including pictures) is not worth the extra hassle, we can delete everything and restore to a basic setup.  This is also an option if you are sure you have no data to lose and need you computer back ASAP.
